Congrats Sara + Ryan!
These wonderful people were married at the Daly Mansion in Hamilton, Montana. We first met in Helena for their engagement session and they have so much fun. Too bad their doggies Penny and Cash had to stay home for the wedding! I believe they cracked up several times during their wedding ceremony – classic! This little lady has a lot of heart and this guy is pretty hilarious. I think they go together pretty well?
Having grown up with Montana’s history and being fascinated with Butte’s past I have always wanted to see this place. And photographing a wedding there is even better! Marcus Daly was one of the “Copper Kings” of Butte’s rich copper mine glory. This gorgeous 46 acre, summer mansion was built in 1897 and was remodeled several times until this final Georgian-Revival style was completed in 1910. They say there are 24 bedrooms but we didn’t have time for the tour. We got ready in the trophy room full of mounted exotic animals, including a huge bear. Ahhh! I loved the stone stairways, grand porches and the white pillared colonnade. Getting to visit amazing places I have never been is one of my favorite parts of photographing weddings. It is so inspiring.
Anyway, enough about this amazing property. Here was their amazing day. I can’t get enough of those smiles.
