Amanda + Michael traveled from California for their Headwaters Ranch wedding in Three Forks, Montana. From the moment I met them at Plonk (a wine bar in Bozeman, MT) I knew I we were a good fit. A couple things I adore in my couples 1. knows how to have fun 2. Great taste in all things 3. Wants to meet up at a wine bar. Be still my heart.
I admit I don’t know enough about our armed forces, the ranks, the ribbons. But I know I am so thankful for all of their service! Our groom, a naval pilot and officer looked so handsome in his dress whites. I am used to my stunning brides dressed in white but this was a first for a groom. There were many handsome gents in uniform from many branches of the military in attendance. We were sort of awe struck at these uniformed gents! This dress from BHLDN is also one of my favorite dresses EVER. I love the geometry and elegant fit. This really shows how a dress can be comfortable, not gigantic and heavy and still have gorgeous detail.
Headwaters Ranch Wedding Venue
This was my first chance shooting at Headwaters Ranch as they are a pretty new venue. Their newly constructed, two story round barn that is simply amazing. Set on 500 acres near the headwaters of the Missouri River, the property is amazing. There are several cabins and glamping tents for guests to stay onsite and my favorite part is the hilltop photo ops! Also, Silaine with the ranch helped to coordinate everything beautifully. This wedding day was HOT. I mean 102 degrees. Which for Montana is pretty damn hot. It was also fire season and this day had a terrible inversion and we were really socked in. The images we took on the hilltop don’t do justice to the view on a clear day but on wedding days we just have to roll with it!
The high point of the day was the sword arch entrance after the ceremony! What a wonderful and unique way to celebrate. Further proof that making your wedding truly your own is always best.
