Gallatin River Wedding

When I first met Shannon we already had mutual friends and I could tell right away that she is one-of-a-kind. To say that Shannon and Tyler are 100% themselves would be an understatement. That saying – “when they made you they broke the mould” comes to mind. These two love animals – horses, doggies, chickens and now mini pig! Visiting their house is an adventure! It could mean checking out the new chicken house (with swing of course) or riding a horse for the first time in many years. Side note, this photographer can be bribed with fresh eggs. Anyway, we really have gotten to know them both over the last year or so and I think of them both as friends.

Check out their engagement session!

Gallatin River Wedding – Bozeman, Montana

Now, for their wedding day. Another friend Keri Lou of Blonde Owl Salon did a fabulous job with Shannon’s hair in makeup in the 2 story treehouse onsite at the Gallatin River Hideaway. Yes, 2 story treehouse. An of course, the tree house is amazing. Keri Lou specializes in vibrant hair colors and for Shannon’s big day they did lovely hues of blue and purple. I figured she was actually going to wear a short red wedding dress as she had led some of us to believe. Wow, was I surprised to see the stunning and elegant gown she picked. More traditional than I would have guessed but so lovely and refined. This is a girl who is often stomping around in horse shit so this was ah-mazing. The girls all wore cowgirl boots with the exception of Shannon who could only wear one because a horse stepped on her foot and it was too swollen. The other shoe was a fuzzy bear claw slipper of course.

Our mutual friend Toby married the two in the gazebo and did a great job. Toby and his wife Cynthia run the Gallatin River Hideaway and what a great job they do. Seriously, this place is the best. They offer some awesome places to stay and get ready in one of their cabins or tree houses. If you are planning a wedding in Bozeman give them a call, they are some of the nicest people in the industry.

For the reception Double Barrel played and I highly recommend for any event looking for fun and a really talented band. But nothing topped the entertainment of their first dance. It began with a sweet song from Billie Holiday and then suddenly a mix of songs from Taylor Swift to the Beastie Boys to a little Eye of the Tiger action from the guys. So. Much. Fun. Doesn’t really surprise me because the Wades (Shannon & Tyler) did everything their way. I love it when people have the kind of party they really want to have. Congrats you two!
