Meet Emilie, Zack and their best man and son Wesley.
They came all the way from Pennsylvania to get married in Montana. Having been here before, they dreamed of getting married here one day. They stayed in a beautiful vacation rental in the Bridger Mountain outside Bozeman. The rental they picked had a simply killer view of the Bridger mountains! One great thing about such a small elopement is I was not standing in anyones way for photos! They were married by a clerk of the court, had their best man as a witness and me taking pictures. I had never been so honored to be a guest at a wedding. This was beyond intimate and so very different than the medium to large size wedding most of us are used to. I don’t know if I was mentally prepared actually as I am used to not being the center of attention and blending in with the crowd. But this, wow. I was right there, practically part of it. It really almost brought me to tears.
These three people are delightful. What a loving family and so much fun. One moment I remember was when they asked me if there was snakes in the grass. My answer – “well, no… I mean I don’t think so?”. Upon later inquiry with some of my more outdoorsy friends I guess there are snakes but I choose to ignore their existence when I am trying to get the shot! I have done some crazy things to get the shot including risking injury which I can happily say I am more aware of now. But I still love going to a level of discomfort to get photos for my couple that they will love for a lifetime. I think these might be that.
